I was sent to your practice for a ultra sound scan It was the first time i had visited the surgery as i'm not a patient registered there I was very impressed by the politeness of all the staff It was clean and tidy not like my surgery In fact if I didn't live so far away I would try to join the practice. The only complaint I would have is that its not signposted, as I had to have a taxi, the taxi driver took me to the old tower hill surgery because he didn't know where the new one was May i suggest a large sign outside the practice to let everybody who visit where you are because you deserve more people to use your services but they might not know your there.

Thank you for submitting your comments. We do indeed have the name of the practice on the building and also a sign board. The board is set slightly inwards on the incline from the road and you may mean that it is not immediately visible until you near the surgery. The building itself however has the name in letters at the top of the building itself. The adjacent pharmacy has a luminous green cross sign that glows in the dark to alert people of a pharmacy. We hope that helps people notice the exact location.

Nearly impossible to get 'routine' appointments, waiting time is 2 weeks. Their response is just to turn up next day at 8am and expect me to get out of bed early to wait outside for the doors to open? Getting through by phone is impossible and long waiting times. You really do need to have more routine appointments available as not all appointments are urgent. Some of the Drs are ok (its a hit and miss), some of the receptionists are nice but most are rude and just want to quickly get rid of you, they don't take time to listen to patients needs and quickly jump to conclusions. They never listen to my feedback when I am there.

Response from Tower Hill Partnership Medical Practice

Thank you for submitting your comments. There are daily telephone appointments and a duty doctor that can discuss issues on the phone. This saves unnecessary visits as these discussions are very helpful and can resolve concerns. The doctors can also ask patients to come down if required. Many routine appointments are booked this way now. Patients are often pleased to discuss issues and only come down if they need to after discussion with clinicians. If you are not sure what is urgent, routine/ or non urgent, please try to ask for a telephone discussion first. Routine reviews for chronic disease are usually pre booked some weeks prior or by letter invite. Please enquire about online access so that you can book appointments on the internet which means that you do not have to call on the phone system if you do not wish. We always welcome constructive thoughtful feedback so please come forward and we shall be pleased to hear your suggestions. We run a patient participation group which you are welcome to join if you wish to help maintain improved patient services.

You can rarely get through within half an hour, often can't even get to wait in line on the phone. Can only get to see my own GP about once a month when I book in advance. As such I book in advance every monthThere are a couple of great GPs, in addition one I saw seems to try and two I have seen I have refused to see again due to both attitude and one of them missed a stroke. Far too many patients on their books and every time I go they are signing more people up even though they can't manage those they have already

This may be a new surgery but your better off going to a walk in centre you cant get an appointment even the internet booking appointments are limited or are offered a telephone appointment How can a doctor diagnose a problem with a telephone call the receptionists need to be retrained in manners Medical notes are not as accurate as they should be they dont manage ongoing conditions very well and always assume its the same problem imply you may have depression when you have medical issues they they dont manage properly. The surgery is clean and has onsite parking and a lift and a onsite chemist

Thank you for your comments. Telephone discussions are increasingly popular and a very useful way of patients speaking to clinicians directly. If there is a need to be examined and diagnosed the clinicians can negotiate a time/ date to suit patients. The telephone discussion can also be a video call where you can be seen and can see the clinician. These are not used very often currently but we are hoping the uptake will increase. We welcome feedback on this option of appointment choice soon. If you feel you need assistance with an on going concern please come forward and we shall be pleased to help you.

The receptionists are vital part of the front line practice team. They understand as part of their regular training that customer service is very important. Please come forward to the practice so that we can address your particular individual concerns.
